Luciano Frezzi is the next generation of the family to manage their vineyards located in the semi-arid foothills of the Andes in the Province of La Rioja in Argentina.  It was his father Oscar Frezzi who Ceres first met and worked with not long after he began transitioning his land in 1993 to become fully certified organic in 1996.

The familia Frezzi vineyard has matured into one of the leading organic raisin plantations in Argentina producing the Thompson Seedless variety of grapes.

Being in a semi-arid environment means water is a precious resource and every drop counts.  Like many farmers living in this South American type of landscape building a reservoir to hold the water and feeding the vines by drip irrigation conserves this resource.

On the other hand, the sun is plentiful and hot so the drying method for the raisins is naturally the sun.  Each year from the beginning of January to the beginning of March the harvest takes place as a family and community affair.
